At it again...

I don't know, but with old age comes my desire to eat less foods with random crap in them. I certainly have a waayyyysss to go, but I figure you gotta start somewhere. I decided to start with two items that my family uses a lot of- almond milk and yogurt.. Jack and Nora would live off yogurt if I let them, and I would live off almond milk if that weren't totally disgusting. I already wrote about the yogurt, now its time to talk about the almond milk...

Almond milk: 

1. Soak one cup of raw almonds overnight, and rinse in the AM

2. In a strong blender, add the rinsed almonds with 3.5 cups water and blend for no less than one minute. I threw in 3 dates, 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract and a pitch of cinnamon and cardamom for sweetness and taste.

3. Drain almond pulp well using a milk nut bag- funny name, but works soo well. 

4. Then put in a container and enjoy- it should last 3-4 days... yum!
